black circles There is but a single issue Walker's admirers and critics readily agree upon: Her work disregards the dictate of shame -- in view of victims of violence, in view of degrading stereotypes, in view of sexual acts, in view of feces, etc. Walker disregards the reverance that--to protect the innocent--conceals the fetishistic character of white male fictions of the black woman I'm attracted to unwritten laws and, unconsciously breaking them. Gadgets are rarely ever complicated if the manual's laying somewhere in the pile of books over there. People, however, don't usually come with explicit instructions on how to behave around them. I'm often referred to as ditzy because I require unspoken rules to be verbalized. Disrespectful because I require them to spring from logically sound premises. This is more so in "black circles". Outright selfish because I don't draw the same conclusions and unintentionally forget to investigate the possible mindframes my victims could be in [Mind reading as requisite]. All accusations come complete with an "Even I know (better than) that" intonation People don't communicate; they judge.
