It's been a while... I turned 27 on the 4th of Feb and I don't really like it. I'm starting tech school tomorrow, and I'm nervous. I realized that I could look up anything on audiogalaxy, so I looked up the one classical music piece that I knew "Wedding Day At Troldhaugen" by Grieg. Then I got curious and downloaded a bunch of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart because they were the only ones I knew of. I think I'm hooked on Bach. I particularly like this one file that I downloaded of his,titled Organ Fugue in G Minor. I like to listen to it while playing Yahoo Towers, it's sweet! Speaking of downloading music on the Web, I caught "Macrovision Attempts Copy Protection" on techtv.com Macrovision sells copyright protection technologies to the recording industry. Their latest technology is called SafeAudio and it:

• is a complete infringement upon the music buyer's rights
• a threat to the portable MP3 player industry
• downright ridiculous and a waste of some programmer's time

I don't believe that we should place new artists' works online, just for the fact that they need that first big paycheck to move forward. However, it seems that only the artists that are already making big bucks are the ones doing the whining. Anyway most of the stuff I download is old and hard to find anywhere else, but online. I can't help thinking that the record industry has the nerves to scream foulplay when they're always ripping off the artists and the consumers.
