Holy crap batman! The media is overflooding all the young people with violence! I always wondered what made things seem so harsh lately and it just came to my mind (duh!) that look at what the world , especially the young, has become preoccupied with. Sorry to say this but video games ,wwf, vampires, big pimping hood rap(t) music, and anime (which can be either too violent or the perfect peaceful show) seem to be what everyone is into. I feel like I'm stuck in one of those futuristic sci-fi books where there is a weird phenomenon occurring and nobody else notices but me.It's all about proving that you are bigger and badder than everyone else. To me that is scary. Then there is this subjugated geisha-girl undertone to add to it. Actually, I must not be the only one that sees this: Violence on TV:The Desensitizing of America TV Violence This is probably a little out of date as to what young folks are watching, but the theme proves to me that I'm just a little bit late and obviously the war was not won. An Aside: Even people in my age bracket (26) seem to be preoccupied with some crap that only makes them worse to be around. There is a definite backlash on females in general. Now I'm sensing a backlash on gay men. So if your sex of choice is male you're in trouble.End of Aside It's not just the media either, some kids actually have parents that fight like the video games, which is likely to be more traumatic. This makes me feel bad because if you take away these kids violence and sex combos then you become the grinch that stole X-mas. I'm starting to wonder if maybe those boys that were trying to shoot up their schools played a little too much Tomb Raider. At first I didn't think it was possible, but perhaps there is something there. What is wrong with us anyway? Why do we cry for Utopias and then run in the other direction? We cry that we want peace, love and happiness, but look at what we get into. I feel a research paper brewing. There are way too many aspects coming to mind. Perhaps I will make this a special rant.
